Ards & North Down Borough Council Four Towns Marketing Campaign

Ards and North Down Borough Council is driving forward a wide range of opportunities to help reinvigorate town centres in the in Northern Ireland Borough.

They have a clear objective to support local traders and promote the towns as a destination for shoppers. New engaging brands were developed for each town centre and to support and ‘launch’ this, four distinct but integrated marketing campaigns were developed employing a range of channels including taxis. The aim was to raise awareness of each town but also promote the new town brands.

Keen to capture the attention of potential shoppers and visitors from a wide radius around the towns, including Belfast city, the marketing team commissioned a suite of taxis, one for each town. Each taxi carried and celebrated the distinct graphic identify of that town’s specific campaign, while also working collectively to project a dramatic and eyecatching fleet.

The taxis helped to deliver against the objectives for the project which were to:

- Promote and raise awareness of each town’s individual offering

- Promote and increase awareness of the town centre brands

- Increase footfall to the town centres

The team also used the potential of the taxis through social media, holding competitions and encouraging user-generated content to engage with locals and visitors, and have some fun too!
